Privacy policy

Algoria processes the minimum data needed, for stated purposes, and never sells it. This page sets out what is collected, why, on what legal basis, and how to exercise your rights.

What we collect

• Contact form: your name, email address and message, sent to Algoria by email so we can answer you. This is not stored in a database.
• Chat assistant: the content of your messages is sent to OpenAI to generate a reply. Algoria stores nothing; the transcript stays in your browser (sessionStorage) and disappears when you close the tab. OpenAI may retain API requests for a limited period for abuse monitoring.
• Analytics: pages viewed, approximate origin and device type, through Google Analytics 4 — only if you have consented.
• Server logs: IP address and timestamp, kept briefly by the host for security and abuse prevention.

Cookies and local storage

No analytics cookie is set before your explicit consent. No advertising cookies are used on this site.

You can withdraw or change your consent at any time through “Manage cookies” at the bottom of every page. Withdrawing immediately deletes any analytics cookies already set.

Legal bases

• Answering your enquiry: pre-contractual steps and our legitimate interest in handling incoming requests (art. 6(1)(b) and 6(1)(f) GDPR).
• Analytics: your consent (art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and art. 129 of the Belgian Electronic Communications Act of 13 June 2005).
• Security and abuse prevention: legitimate interest (art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Recipients and transfers

Data may be processed by our host (OVH, European Union), by Google Ireland Limited for analytics where you have consented, and by OpenAI for the chat assistant. Some of these involve a transfer to the United States, covered by the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Webfonts are served from our own servers, so displaying them discloses nothing to any third party.

Retention

Contact emails are kept for as long as needed to follow up, then archived or deleted. Analytics data is kept for at most 13 months. Your consent choice is kept until you clear it or the policy changes.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Write to info@algoria.be; we answer within one month.

Complaints

If you believe your data is not being handled lawfully, you may lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels — contact@apd-gba.be.
